Cookie Policy
Readiness Layer — readinesslayer.com
Operated by Bimbi Philips Limited
Last updated: 19 March 2026
Version: 1.1
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on the Readiness Layer platform, why we use them, and how you can control them. It applies to readinesslayer.com and all associated partner subdomains.
This policy is written to comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) 2003 and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner.
Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and authentication tokens. Where we refer to "cookies" in this policy, we include these similar technologies.
2. What cookies we use
This platform uses strictly necessary cookies only. We do not use functional, analytics, or marketing cookies. No consent is required for strictly necessary cookies under PECR.
2.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the Platform to function. They cannot be switched off.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
sb-auth-token | Supabase authentication session — keeps you logged in | Session |
sb-refresh-token | Supabase session refresh — renews your login automatically | 7 days |
stripe-fraud | Stripe fraud prevention — assesses transaction risk | Session |
brs_cookie_consent | Records your cookie banner preference (accepted or rejected non-essential) | 365 days |
Why strictly necessary? Without these cookies, you cannot log in, your session cannot be maintained, and payments cannot be processed securely. Removing them would make the Platform non-functional for you.
2.2 Analytics cookies
We do not currently use any analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics). If we introduce analytics in the future, we will update this policy and request your consent before setting any analytics cookies.
2.3 Marketing cookies
We do not use any marketing or advertising cookies. No third-party advertising networks operate on this Platform.
3. Third-party cookies
3.1 Stripe
Stripe sets its own cookies for fraud prevention and payment security purposes. These are strictly necessary for processing payments. Stripe's use of cookies is governed by Stripe's own Privacy Policy at stripe.com/privacy.
3.2 No other third-party cookies
We do not permit any other third-party services to set cookies on this Platform. We do not use social media sharing buttons, embedded videos, or advertising networks that would set third-party cookies.
4. Your cookie choices
4.1 Cookie consent banner
When you first visit the Platform, you will see a banner informing you that the site uses strictly necessary cookies only and does not use analytics or advertising cookies. The banner offers two choices:
- Accept — acknowledges our use of strictly necessary cookies
- Reject non-essential — confirms you do not want non-essential cookies (since we do not use any, this has the same functional effect as Accept)
Your choice is stored in a cookie called brs_cookie_consent for 365 days so the banner is not shown again on subsequent visits. Because we use only strictly necessary cookies, no consent choice is required under PECR — the banner and your preference are provided for transparency.
4.2 Browser settings
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored and delete them
- Block all cookies
- Block third-party cookies only
- Clear all cookies when you close the browser
Please note that if you block strictly necessary cookies, the Platform will not function correctly. You will not be able to log in or make payments.
Browser guidance:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies
- Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies
5. Updates to this policy
We will update this Cookie Policy if we introduce any new cookies or change how we use existing ones. We will notify you of material changes and request fresh consent where required. The 'last updated' date at the top of this policy will always reflect the most current version.
