Legal Notices and Source Disclosures
Last updated: 20 May 2026
These Legal Notices explain where the information in BRS comes from, what the BRS readiness model does and does not mean, and how visibility and access work. They support our Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy, and they apply across the readinesslayer.com website and application. BRS is operated by BIMBI PHILIPS LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 08944957, registered office 63-66 Hatton Garden, Fifth Floor, Suite 23, London, England, EC1N 8LE, VAT number GB 183 4086 01.
1. Sources, provenance, and data separation
BRS brings together information from several sources and keeps them separate so that it is always clear what a piece of information is.
- Official registry information comes from public business registries. In the United Kingdom, the first registry source is Companies House. BRS uses a country-aware approach to registries, so equivalent official registries in other countries may be used where available. Companies House is the first United Kingdom adapter; it is not the whole model.
- Listing information comes from listing platforms and partners, either through a partner feed or interface or through an approved listing source, and includes only public-safe listing details.
- Information you provide comes from you when you use BRS and complete an assessment.
- Evidence and review information comes from documents submitted for evidence review and the outcome of that review.
- Audit information records actions taken in BRS for security and governance.
BRS keeps readiness data separate from official registry data, listing and partner information, the information you provide, evidence and review data, and audit events. Where helpful, a dashboard or full profile page shows section-level provenance so you can see where particular information came from. Public search and typeahead rows do not prominently display registry or source labels, to keep results clear and to avoid implying that registry or listing information is BRS-reviewed evidence.
Registry and listing information is provided as a convenience and reflects the source at the time it was retrieved. It may change at the source and may not always be current. Official registry information remains subject to the rights and terms of the original source. Companies House and other registries are independent of BRS and do not endorse BRS. Registry and listing information is public-source metadata. It is not a BRS readiness score, a trust state, a due-diligence output, a quality endorsement, an approval, or a guarantee.
2. Methodology, score, readiness band, evidence eligibility, and trust state
BRS produces readiness information to help you understand and improve how deal-ready a profile may appear. The following are separate and should not be read as one another.
- The BRS Deal Readiness Score reflects readiness information provided through BRS. It does not confirm evidence and does not approve anyone.
- The readiness band is a broad category that helps interpret the score. It is not a trust state.
- Evidence-review eligibility means a profile may be able to start an evidence-review product. A score of 80 per cent or above indicates eligibility only. It does not mean a profile is Evidence-Confirmed.
- The trust state shows where a profile sits in the readiness and evidence-review journey. The only trust states are Not Assessed, Self-Assessed, Verification In Progress, and Evidence-Confirmed.
Evidence-Confirmed means supporting evidence has been reviewed against the BRS readiness standard through eligible human review. It is not due diligence, investment advice, approval, a quality endorsement, or a guarantee of transaction success.
To be clear about the limits of BRS: BRS is not due diligence; it is not investment, financial, legal, or tax advice; it is not an approval; it is not a quality endorsement; it does not provide verified quality; it does not certify a business as investment-ready; and it does not guarantee a sale, a response, buyer or seller action, or any other commercial outcome. BRS does not replace brokers, lawyers, accountants, advisers, due-diligence providers, or your own commercial judgement. BRS may update its methodology and recalculate readiness outputs over time.
3. Restricted visibility, access state, and public-safe display
Where a readiness profile is not openly visible, BRS shows that it has restricted visibility and that owner authorisation is required. Restricted visibility is an access and visibility state only. It is not a trust state, and it does not say anything about a business's readiness, quality, or conduct. A profile may have restricted visibility for ordinary reasons, including that the owner has not chosen to make it public.
Public lookup and public pages show public-safe information only. They do not reveal raw evidence, private profile data, protected contact details, protected contact-path data, seller or buyer contact records, reviewer notes, private score detail, payment-card details, commercial terms, or other confidential records. Seeing a profile, status, or partner-safe report does not create permission to contact a person or business directly. Visibility is not contact access. Where access is restricted, BRS offers a permissioned route, such as requesting access or claiming a profile, which is governed by our Terms and Conditions.
